Tradie business valuations
Green Standard values tradie businesses across Australia: independent, fixed-fee valuations of plumbing, electrical, building, landscaping, civil and field-service businesses, prepared by valuers who look at how the business actually earns its money.
A tradie business is not valued on its profit alone. The valuation starts with the financial statements, replaces what the owner draws with a market wage for the work they do, removes personal and one-off costs, and then asks how much of the remaining profit would stay with the business if the owner stepped away: the customers, the recurring work, the licensed team, the fleet and the reputation.

Tradie owners ask
How much is my tradie business worth?
A tradie business is generally worth what its maintainable earnings support once a market wage is paid for the owner’s own work, adjusted for how much of those earnings would continue under a new owner. Recurring work, licensed staff and a spread of customers lift the value; heavy reliance on the owner or one or two customers reduces it. Our plain-English guide works through how the number is reached.
How much does a tradie business valuation cost?
An independent valuation of an established tradie business is $1,995 + GST. Matters referred by an accountant or adviser partner are $1,495 + GST, and complex matters are quoted from $2,995 + gst. The fee is fixed in writing before work begins. See pricing.
How long does it take?
Typical turnaround is 3 to 7 business days once all required information has been received. You receive a draft before the report is finalised.
I am the only licensed tradie in the business. Can it still be valued?
Yes. Owner and licence dependency are common in trade businesses. The valuation deducts a market cost for the work you do and considers whether a buyer would need their own licence or a licensed employee to keep the business running. See valuing a business with owner dependency.
Do you value tradie businesses outside the capital cities?
Yes. Valuations are delivered remotely Australia-wide, including regional businesses, at the same fixed fees. See business valuations across Australia.
