Valuations are opinions

A valuation is an independent opinion of value at a date, for a stated purpose, based on the information provided and the assumptions set out in the report. It is not a prediction of the price a particular buyer will pay, and we do not promise that any tax authority, court, lender or counterparty will accept a particular value.

Reliance

A report may be relied on only by the parties, and for the purpose, named in the engagement letter and the report. A report prepared for one purpose should not be used for another without our written agreement.

Court proceedings

Unless the engagement expressly provides for it, a report is not prepared as expert evidence for court proceedings. Expert evidence involves different instructions and duties and is scoped as a separate engagement.
